A FORMER British middleweight boxing champion is working with children in an area
of Wolverhampton as part of ongoing efforts to prevent young people becoming
involved in gang related activity.
Wolverhampton Police are working closely with partners in areas that are known to

Girl power reigns as Wayne Elcock visits Castle Bromwich school

GIRL-power reigned supreme at a Birmingham school when boxing champ Wayne
Elcock visited.
The former British middleweight title-holder was invited to spend a day at Park Hall
school, in Castle Bromwich, to give youngsters a taste of the sport.
He taught them how to stand, how to balance and how to maintain their fitness levels.
But when it came to packing a punch, it was the girls who proved a knock out.

Boxing hero takes pride in running Box-Clever for kids.
Wayne Elcock former English, British, Commonwealth and WBU world middle-weight champion
was recently interviewed by School teacher, former BBB of C officer and ABA coach. Chris
Rattenburt who was the first person to run a school boxing program after a 40 years of absence in
Devon schools.
Both impressd and inspired by Wayne’s Box-Clever boxing program skilfully operated by Wayne I
decided his good spirit community work deserved a wider audience, so I contacted him and he
agreed to be interview nterviewed.
I met Wayne for the first time when he was boxing for the title against Plymouth's Scott Dann where
I was present at ringside.
In the interview I presented Wayne with a series of questions that surrounded the boxing program
