Wayne Elcock's BOX CLEVER
Everything can always be better, and everyone has their off-days. But advancement
in any category is a very satisfying experience that students relish. It's the truest
indicator of the impact that BOX CLEVER can deliver.
Today's world of gadgets, computers and lap tops makes it a place where kids are
doing less and less physically and much more mentally. But it's proven that any real
benefit will come from a healthy balance of the both. And there is no better sport for
levels of high fitness. It has been scientifically proven, for instance that boxers have
the third best heart beat rates of any professional sportsmen just behind Tour de
France and long distance swimmers.
Boxing - even without the combat side - is undoubtedly one of the most all-round
challenging sports. The gruelling discipline, the mental and physical agility, the
co-ordination and sheer physical exertion involved impresses even the creme de la
creme of other sports. In fact many elite sports people regularly box-train with
professional coaches as a key part of their fitness regime.
No question then that BOX CLEVER has something positive and unique to offer.
BOX CLEVER sessions are safe. They involve absolutely NO CONTACT. Only the
mechanics of the sport will be taught, coached, practised and developed over a
programme of 12 (appropriately) champion rounds or sessions. Various other
training Programmes are also available and can also be tailored to suit your school
or clubs needs taking into account both budgets and time scales.
Motivational talk will also given by Wayne at the end of every programme to all
classes participating in any of the box clever programmes.
However......If there are pupils who wish to participate further with sparring etc which
does involve contact, I will be happy to recommend them to an established amateur
boxing club nearest to the location of the school. All of the clubs I use are approved
by the ABA - the sports governing body.
Back to the subject of safety BOX CLEVER sessions do not include any form of
heavy weight training because at an early age it can do more harm than good.
